The Arnes name and coat of arms allude to the cottage industry which has taken place here for many years. In modern times, due to the climate and variety of flowers in the region, the honey produced here has gained a well deserved reputation for its taste and quality. The popular local honey festival (Festa de la Mel) is a tribute to this important local product.

The Vilar Rural in Arnes is surrounded both by beautiful countryside and interesting villages. Arnes, a fortified medieval village has been declared of cultural interest. There is an ample list of activities available: hill walking, bicycle routes through the Via Verda, rafting or the pleasure of discovering the nearby villages of Gandesa, Horta de Sant Joan, Prat de Comte and Pinell de Brai.
